Going to Distance Learning
Dear CCA Families,
Earlier this afternoon, Governor Jay Inslee announced that all Washington state schools are required to shut down beginning Tuesday, March 17 through Friday, April 24. This is something that we have been preparing for over the last couple of days. We understand that this has the potential to cause many of you a lot of stress and we want to reassure you that we are working very hard to be ready to provide an excellent Distance Learning education to all of our students.
On Monday, March 16, teachers will be going over CCA’s Distance Learning plan with students and sharing expectations with them. This information will also be shared with all parents and guardians. We will be utilizing digital resources including Google Classroom for grades 4-12 and teachers will be providing lectures, discussion, and instruction, via both live feed and recorded video. We will provide paper packets for grades K-3 and teachers will provide other electronically delivered communications.
Beginning Tuesday, March 17, students in grades 4-12 will begin a ‘soft start’ version of Distance Learning while teachers finalize their training and lesson plans for implementation of CCA’s full version of Distance Learning which will begin on Monday, March 23. Parents of students in grades K-3 will be given paper packets and additional directions from these teachers.
Next week, we will be sending out more detailed information on Distance Learning and we will be clearly communicating our expectations. We will also provide answers to anticipated frequently asked questions.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we finalize our plans. We will continue to give our all to give your students an excellent and robust education. CCA is a family and we will continue to do everything we can to keep us together in spirit and to support our students and families!
Stephanie Gates, Principal
