Update to our current illness policy
Good Evening CCA Families,
Here are the updates to our current CCA policy, which is found in our handbook/bulletin online here:
When a child's temperature is 99.5 or above or has a cough, shortness of breath while resting or is vomiting, parents will be contacted.
- Parents must make arrangements to pick up the child within one hour of notification.
- If the parent is unavailable, the next emergency contact will be asked to come and pick up the ill child.
- Children must remain fever and/or symptom free, without the use of medication for 24 hours. If a child is sent home with a fever/symptoms, they will not be allowed to return the following day, as the 24 hour time period remaining fever/symptom free would not have elapsed.
While a child is waiting for a parent to pick them up, they will be placed in our sick room away from others to keep the illness from spreading. This room is deep cleaned after any student has used this area.
Please remember, if your child becomes sick at school and a teacher/administration believes that the child is too sick to remain at school or is contagious to others, you will be called to come and take him/her home from school.
Thank you for your support and understanding as we do our part to stop the spread of illness.
Stephanie Gates, Principal
