Todd Driver grew up as a pastor’s kid moving every one to two years all over California, Hawaii, and Arizona. Growing up surfing as a teenager, he tends to claim Hawaii as home, even though he has lived much longer in places like the Napa Valley. He graduated from Pacific Union College in 1985 with a BS degree in Graphic Design. Todd worked in the field of art in Hollywood and the Napa Valley for 25 years.
While at PUC Todd studied martial arts and has continued this for the past 35 years, earning his black belts in Kenpo Jitsu, Kung Fu San Soo, and Dan Zan Ryu Jujitsu. He began to teach Jujitsu while in Northern Idaho at Washington State University, moving on to teach also at Pacific Union College and eventually opening his own school and teaching professionally in Loma Linda, Ca. It was while teaching in Loma Linda that Todd noticed the positive influence and changes in his students’ characters and decision making processes. He found he was truly looking forward to teaching the kids each day. This was a life changing realization and he decided he wanted to be a part of teaching kids and being a positive influence in their lives. He sold his art studio to a competitor, gave his dojo to his Black Belts, moved to Idaho, and started pursuing a degree in Education.
Todd began teaching 7th and 8th grade in Idaho at Caldwell Adventist Elementary School in 2007. In 2009 he accepted the position of VP of Academics and Athletic Director for Gem State Adventist Academy, and taught PE, Health, Living Skills, and Art, along with Biology and Physical Science while there. Todd earned his Masters of Education degree in Curriculum & Instruction in 2013 from Northwest Nazarene University. He joined the teaching team at Cascade Christian Academy in 2018 and teaches PE to Kindergarten through the 10th grade, as well as High School Personal Fitness.
Todd has a real burden to help our students learn personal accountability, to become givers rather than takers, and to gain an internal drive to seek their own relationship with God, to actually own their beliefs and be able to defend them.
He loves sports of all kinds, but spends most of his time with Jujitsu, personal fitness, snow skiing and snowboarding. He is an avid reader and enjoys studying health.
Todd was married in 1988 to his wife Denise, and has a daughter, Sierra, and a son, Tristan.
