I have been a part of Adventist Education my entire life. Most of my childhood years were spent overseas as a missionary family and in Montana, where my parents taught at a small school. I graduated from Walla Walla Valley Academy in 2002. Next I went to Walla Walla College, where I received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in Religion and endorsements in Math and English. My wonderful husband, Jared, and I were married that same afternoon after we both graduated! In 2008, I was among the first graduating class of Walla Walla University as I received my Master of Arts in Teaching degree specializing in Educational Leadership.
My husband and I have been teaching in Adventist Education since we graduated. We worked in Washington (Goldendale and Brewster) for five years and in Montana (Missoula and Libby) for six years. We spent one two-year term as missionaries to the island of Kosrae. We were blessed to move to Wenatchee and join Cascade Christian Academy in 2018. One of my favorite parts of teaching is watching the "lightbulb turn on" when students understand something for the first time. Working as a resource teacher is an interesting and exciting job. I get to work with so many students and help them learn and master new information every day!
Jared and I have four fantastic children and two island girls from Kosrae who love CCA! Our family enjoys camping, hiking, skiing, and playing outdoors. We love to play games together and read a lot of books. I look forward to more years at CCA as we continue to work for Christ! He is the Master Teacher and is continually guiding me to become a better teacher. I am excited for His soon return and want to see ALL my students in heaven!
